CricViz are delighted to announce an analytics partnership with the Desert Vipers in the International League T20. The Vipers, owned by Lancer Capital, are one of six teams in the new T20 tournament that will be played next January in the UAE.
CricViz have been involved with the Vipers from the outset and have played a central role in the squad-building process. Today the Vipers announced their 13 direct signings who will be supplemented by local players who will be signed at a Draft later this year.
The Desert Vipers have built an exciting squad with an emphasis on a strong and varied bowling attack and a batting order capable of thriving against both pace and spin.
Wandindu Hasaranga, one of the world’s leading spin bowlers, headlines the bowling attack which also features more elite leg spin from Sandeep Lamichhane, left-arm Powerplay threat from Sheldon Cottrell and Reuben Trumplemann, middle overs mystery from Benny Howell, aggressive pace from Saqib Mahmood and death variations from Tom Curran.
Alex Hales and Colin Munro provide top order power above a middle order of Sam Billings, Azam Khan, Ben Duckett and Sherfane Rutherford who bring dynamism through the middle and death overs, with support and power coming from Howell, Curran and Hasaranga.

So far the Vipers have been supported by our head of Performance Analysis: Freddie Wilde, head of Data Science: James Norton-Brown and analyst Kieran Parmley.
CricViz will continue to assist the Vipers team management, led by Director of Cricket Tom Moody and Head Coach James Foster in the build-up to the season and for the season itself with data science, analysis and consultancy.
CricViz analysis and consultancy are available to teams around the world.
